The clippings books were compiled by the Evening Post office in Lower Hutt to provide ready reference about Hutt Valley issues. The collection is organised into four sequences - General, Sport, Crime and Local Body issues covering from 1961 to 1985. They were donated to Hutt City Libraries in 2003. The General sequence for 1972 to 1977 has been digitised.
