About this collection

Description

In the early 1980's Hutt City Libraries began developing a collection of photographs relating to Lower Hutt. The collection consists of about 8,000 prints covering a range of subjects. Most of the prints are copies of photographs held by other institutions, particularly the Alexander Turnbull Library. The collection was originally held at the War Memorial Library, in 2008 it was transferred to the newly formed Heritage Centre at Petone Library. Here it is housed alongside the Petone Borough Library heritage photographic collection. Both collections are catalogued online.
